Doubters in the Bible | Abraham

Doubters in the Bible | Abraham

Did you ever doubt God only to see Him deliver in a huge way?  It almost seems as if God intentionally waits until the last possible second before He swoops in an saves the day to prove a point.  What is the point?  Trust in God.

Abraham was one of the few people who have ever heard God speak verbally to them.  In Genesis 17:15-17 God says the following:

15 God also said to Abraham, ‘As for Sarai your wife, you are no longer to call her Sarai; her name will be Sarah. 16 I will bless her and will surely give you a son by her, I will bless her so that she will be the mother of nations; kings of peoples will come from her.’ 17 Abraham fell facedown; he laughed and said to himself, ‘Will a son be born to a man a hundred years old? Will Sarah bear a child at the age of ninety?'”

Could you imagine having God speak directly to you verbally?  That is crazy!!!  Secondly, could you imagine God telling you something that will happen in your future and your reaction is doubt and laughter?  That is even crazier!!!!  We all know that God delivered as He promised and Sarah gave birth to their son Isaac.  We all will doubt God at one point or another in our spiritual journey, but just remember, God knows what is best for us and we need to trust in Him.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.” – Proverbs 3:5
